With over 15 years in the industry, he has been instrumental in connecting audiences with memorable performances and providing platforms for artists to flourish in Northeast Ohio. In his current role as Talent Buyer at AEG Presents, James curates diverse musical events at Cleveland's historic Agora Theatre, a venue with a globally recognized history for rock & roll, celebrated for its eclectic range of artists and genres. James's impact on Cleveland's music landscape is profound. As the lead talent buyer at the Beachland Ballroom & Tavern, he was pivotal in booking groundbreaking acts such as Billie Eilish, Noah Kahan, Tyler Childers, and IDLES. His visionary approach extended to co-founding NEOCycle, a bike and music festival that attracts thousands of attendees annually, and serving as Music Director for Ingenuity Cleveland, a nonprofit festival celebrating local and regional talent. In recognition of his contributions, James was honored as Cleveland's "Best Promoter" in 2014 by Cleveland Scene, highlighting his role as one of the city's true tastemakers.
Looking ahead, James is set to play a key role in the opening of Globe Iron, a new 1,200-capacity concert venue located in the former Metropolis Night Club on Cleveland's West Bank of the Flats. Scheduled to open in May 2025, Globe Iron aims to host a range of musical performances and special events, further enriching the city's cultural offerings.
